The Golf Club of Amelia Island at Summer Beach was nominated for best new course of the year in 1988. The meticulously maintained facility, designed by Mark McCumber and Gene Littler, is the only PGA Tournament course on Amelia Island. The course hosted the 1998 Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf Tournament. It winds through oaks and tall pines on the front nine, with water and marshes dominating the back nine

The fairways are tight, with thick vegetation lining many holes, especially around the greens. The greens here are very large with several in excess of 10,000 square feet.

The Club is noted for it's excellent conditioning and rated among the top 25 courses in the state by top golf publications. Its flawless design has been recognized worldwide.

Look out for Lee Majors and Jacksonville Jaguar players - both frequent the course. .
